This is my first group work in this subject.

             It is a brainstorming mind map about the song given by the lecturer.

Our song is one of the famous song of Arctic Monkeys- Brainstrom.

From this mind map, I have learnt how to use the six thinking hats in mind mapping.

Next, it is a group work again.

We were required to design a CD cover for the song given by the lecturer.

From this project, I learnt to cooperate and tolerate with all of my group members.

They are Tan Ai-Qi, Rena Sim Lee Na, Natalie, and Sheila.

                                   Here comes to the interesting parts.         
            I was so surprised that our first task is creating our own MONSTER~

                  I was wondering why studying architecture need to draw monster.

                  Well, now i realized that creativity is very important in architecture.

IDJ 1

This is my monster.

I named it Dolly Pink as she looked like a doll and her favourite colour is pink.

She was created by a pair of lonely couple in Wing Planet.

She has a pair of pink wings and does not have legs and hands.

She likes retro hair style.

Her horoscope is Aquarius.

When she gets tired, she will become water droplets and rest in the bottle.

IDJ 2

This is the planet where Dolly Pink lives.

I named it Wing Planet as all the residents there have a pair of wings.

In Wing Planet, there is a Monsta City and a Monsta Residence.

Monsta Residence is where all the monster live. It is on the ground.

Monsta City is a monster city with a lot of shops. It is on the sky.

IDJ 3

This is the enemy of Dolly Pink, called Crazy Chef.

He likes to cook animals of Wing Planet which is illegal  in the planet.

He has a pair of orange wings on his hat, and four hands with different cooking tools.

IDJ 4

This is Dolly Pink's event which is a cooking competition with her enemy, Crazy Chef.

She organized this event instead of fighting with each other.

This cooking competition is held in Super Hall.

The theme of this competition is to cook a dessert.

Winner can own a restaurant while loser has to leave Wing Planet forever.

Crazy Chef lose and left the planet at the end of the story.

IDJ 5

This is my own IDJ book cover.

I named the book "Who's Behind The Wings?"

It is my monster, Dolly Pink who represents my personalities.

The eye covered by the wings represent that I am a shy and timid girl.

I don't dare and don't have enough confidence to show out my works.

However, the eye also represent that I am a curious girl who wants to learn more and explore more in my life.

And obviously, I love pink very much.

This is one of my favourite tasks~

And it is my first time knowing this word- ONOMATOPOEIA!

I realized the importance of preparation and cooperation with group members.

We are so regret that we did not practice and prepare well before perform on the stage.

However, it is fun, cool and exciting.

I hope there will be such an interesting task for us in the next semester!

Well, finally here comes to the PSA video.
The topic my group members and I chose is STOP BULLYING!

From here, my group members and I have learnt to tolerate with each others while filming the video.
And also, I realized that it is not easy to film an interesting advertisement.
I should practice more in order to make a good film in my next semester.

Lastly, it's the hardest project for me.
Rube Goldberg Machine.

It didn't work smoothly while presenting, but I have tried my best. :(
I have improved my creative thinking skills through the whole project XD

Overall, it is fun and I really enjoyed the classes very much~

English 1

The first task given by our English lecturer, Miss Lojana, is writing an essay.

The title I chose is "Using Recycled Products in Construction".

I have learnt how to write an good essay.

It begins with an introduction and thesis statement, followed by supporting paragraphs and specific details.

Also, I have learnt how to do a citation and reference in APA style.

Next, we were giving a listening test in the class.

I was really nervous that time as I couldn't really get what I had listened from the radio.

However, after doing some practice with other classmates, I realized that the technique is taking down the notes in short form of words or arrows while listening.

Also, I have learnt to recalling the information, recognize the main ideas and supporting details.

Here is my favourite part in this subject.
We were given a task to make a video as an oral presentation.

It's a funny love video edited by Rena.
We learnt that we can't really film it well in the last minutes.
But overall, it is fun and we enjoy filming it very much!

The last assignment is a group work which is doing a photoblog, followed by oral presentation.

The place my group members and I chose to do the photoblog is Pulau Langkawi.

Here are some of our photos of Langkawi trip.

I really had a great time with those cute friends.

I have built a better rapport with them through this trip.

Honesty, I was so panic when i knew that we have to present one by one in front of the class.

However, I have learnt how to prepare well before presenting from this task.

Also, I have gained some useful knowledge.

Eye contact is an important tool in oral presentation.

Besides, we have to use physical space and body movement to enhance our message.

Thus, we can do well in our oral presentation.

Thank you Miss Lojana. I really enjoyed our English class in my first semester! =)

This is my cover page of my sketch journal.

It's just a simple collage of a girl who is painting.

Sketch journal is the weekly assignment of this subject.

Here are some my sketches.

This is my first colour pencils sketches.

It's a dandelion.

I named it little dot as it's a tiny flower in the green field.

I wrote a poem for my first sketches:

Dandelion, dandelion,

A dot of yellow on the green,

As you swift fly in the wind,

I think you make a lovely scene.

This is the landscape perspective.

It is an imaginary lakeside garden.

I always have a dream to own a garden like this in my future house.

The quote i wrote in this sketches is:

Garden is a special place,

so near and dear to my heart.

And the last sketches i shared here is my timeline of lamp.

I sketched them in a photo hanging pattern.

Quote of the sketches:

You are like the Sun and the Stars in the skies,

Even though clouds may sometimes cover my days and my nights,

Your light still shines.

From this assignment, I have improved a lot in sketching.

The  most importanti is I am happy that I have learnt on using different materials and techniques in different sketches.

This is my project 1b, postcards.

The place I chose is UK farm.

It is located at Jalan Batu Pahat, Kluang, Johor.

The landscape here is excellent, and you can have 0 distance with those cute lambs!

This is my first time doing postcards.

And i have learnt how to use acrylic in painting.

This is my project 2b, collage.

The title i chose is space.

The collage shows a girl is blowing the bubbles.

There are spaces between the bubbles.

Also, there is space between the girl and the castle.

I have improve my creativity while doing this collage.

This is the project 2a - group project.

My group members are Rena, Karyn, Shin, and Elena.

Our project title is Infrastructure- Road System.

From this project, I have gained some knowledge about urban, suburban and rural area.

Project 2b is our presentation of project 2a.

I realized that preparation is very important to present well in front of  everyone.

But overall, i enjoy the classes. ^-^

❤Introduction to Construction Industry❤

Say Hi to ICI (Introduction to Construction Industry)! ^-^

Firstly, it is my first group work with Ai-Qi, Rena, and Natalie
This assignment is about doing a brainstorming mind map with title Construction Industry.
The building in the mind map was designed by our group leader, Natalie.
I was truly appreciated the moment working hard with my group members.
From here, I have gotten my first knowledge about construction industry.
Besides, I also learnt to cooperate and tolerate with each others.

Here comes to my first individual project.

It's a collage, titled: My Places, My memories!

The place i did is Johor Bahru, Malaysia which is my hometown.

And the places i chose to do the collage are Johor Bahru Old Chinese Temple, Kota Tinggi Waterfalls, Johor Bahru Zoo, Danga Bay and Desaru Fruit Farm.

I designed my collage into a breakfast pictures which included a teapot, a cup, bread and cake.

Through this project, I have improved my creativity.

This is because I have done a lot of researches before i start off this project.

And I found some of the information of those places which i did not discover before.

I love my place, my memories.

Well, It is another project given by our lecturer- Proposal.
I have designed a cafe, named "The Garden Cafe"
It is built on a 30mx30m site, located at Block B.
The diagram above is the plan of my cafe
It is a relaxing cafe with excellent landscape design which is also an attraction of Taylor's Lakeside Campus.

                                                   

The photos above is the budget cost of the cafe of my proposal.

The total cost of construction is RM346,720.

From this project, I have learnt how to do a good proposal.

I realized that it's not so easy to build a cafe.

It requires a lot of materials, decorations, plants, lighting, furniture and tableware.
However, I am lucky to have those helpful group members as they always lend me a helping hand during this project.

It's also a group project.
This project is to film a video about the problems faced during the construction project.
For example, problem communicate to foreign workers, Materials do not arrive on site on time, client faces financial problem and so on.
From this project, I understand that everyone has to tolerate among each other in order to complete a project successfully.
If not, the whole project will be delayed and maybe lead to shut down.
Overall, the process of filming was fun and i have built a better rapport with my group members!

At the beginning, I felt that ICI is a very boring subject.
It's not.
I enjoyed every learning process in my first semester!
